Utilities your residents can see
Software for prepaid and metered utilities on estates and property portfolios: metering, billing, payments and the apps and dashboards on top.

In short
An estate runs on numbers that residents, managing agents and the utility all need to trust: what each home has used, what it has paid and what it has left. We build the systems that collect those numbers from the meters, make sense of them, and put the right view in front of each person, as one platform rather than a pile of tools.
Estates, property & utilities
What we build for estates and utilities
Prepaid and metered utilities touch residents, managing agents and the supplier at once. We build for all three.
- 01
Resident self-service
Apps and portals where residents check their balance, buy credit and see their own usage, instead of phoning the office or visiting a vendor.
- 02
Warnings, not surprises
Alerts that reach residents while there is still time to act, whether the problem is low credit, unusual usage or an interruption.
- 03
Usage people understand
Consumption presented in money as well as units, over time, so a household or a body corporate can see where it's going.
- 04
Metering and monitoring
Readings from meters across an estate or portfolio, collected reliably into one platform, whatever mix of hardware is on the ground.
- 05
Views for those who run it
Dashboards for managing agents, estate managers and trustees, with access set by role, so each person sees what they answer for.
- 06
Billing and reconciliation
The unglamorous heart of it: statements, payments and recoveries that add up, and readings that can be checked against the bulk supply.
How it flows
The Handee Method on an estate
- 01
Discover
We map the meters, the payment flow, the people involved and the rules around billing and data, before anything is designed.
- 02
Prototype
In days, a live slice: real readings flowing into the cloud, a data model for balances and usage, and a working screen to put in front of residents or trustees.
- 03
Build
Production apps, payments and dashboards, built with the practices money needs: idempotent requests so a retry never charges twice, signature-checked payment callbacks and an append-only audit trail.
- 04
Run
After launch we keep watching health, anomalies and updates, so the numbers stay worth trusting.

Give every resident a number they can trust
Give every resident a number they can trustTell us about the estate or portfolio, the meters you have and what residents and managing agents need to see. A few lines is enough to start.
- 01One team for the meter data, the platform and the resident app

What happens next
- 01We read your briefWe come back to you, usually with a few questions about your meters and residents.
- 02A first callWe talk through the estate, the meters, the payment flow and who needs to see what.
- 03A clear proposalScope, timeline and cost for a first phase, so you know exactly what you're committing to.
Questions
Estate and utility questions, answered
What estates, managing agents and utilities usually ask us first.
01Can you work with the meters we already have?
That's usually where we start. In discovery we look at what your meters report and how, and design the platform around them. If they can't give you what you need, we'll tell you plainly before any build begins.
02How do residents pay?
However suits the estate: card in an app or portal is the most common, and every payment is confirmed to the resident as it lands. We built exactly this for Unimet. Payments are built so a retry never charges twice, and every callback from the payment provider is signature-checked.
03Can managing agents get their own view?
Yes. We build dashboards with access set by role, so a managing agent, an estate manager and a resident each see what they're responsible for. What goes on each dashboard is agreed with you in discovery.
04Can the system help with tampering and losses?
It can help surface them. With every meter's readings in one place, usage that drops unexpectedly or doesn't add up against the bulk bill stands out. What can be detected depends on what your meters report, so we assess that early.
05How is residents' data looked after?
Personal and payment data has to be handled with care under POPIA. We agree where data is hosted and who can see it as part of the design, and financial movements are written to append-only logs, so every change can be traced.
